A black resident of Montgomery, Willie Edwards, Jr., is forced by four members of the Ku Klux Klan to jump to his death from a bridge over the Alabama River. Although the killers are never prosecuted, one of those involved, Henry Alexander, confesses to his wife before he died of cancer in 1992.
