The 100th march of the Grenada Movement for civil rights is held in Grenada, Mississippi. Protesters stage a rally at the courthouse in defiance of an ordinance forbidding rallies there. The Grenada campaign, begun in the summer of 1966, sought to "integrate everything" in a largely segregated town and successfully register black voters.
