King's funeral takes place in Ebenezer Baptist Church, where King had served as co-pastor along with his father. Among the attendees are Jacqueline Kennedy, Hubert Humphrey, Thurgood Marshall, and numerous senators while millions more watched the nationally televised broadcast. Later, two Georgia mules pulled King's coffin on a four-mile course through Atlanta with more than 100,000 mourners following. King's body is interred at the South-View Cemetery.
