Tavis Smiley interviewed the Institute's founding Director Clayborne Carson and Scholar in Residence Clarence Jones for the primetime PBS special "A Call to Conscience," which premiered Wednesday March 31. The Tavis Smiley Web team also caught up with Associate Director Tenisha Armstrong on location to discuss the contemporary importance of the Institute's vast collection of documents on Dr. King and the relevance of King's life and legacy.

Dr. Clayborne Carson, an American professor of history at Stanford University in California, scholar on Martin Luther King, Jr., and leader in the American Civil Rights Movement, visited the West Bank on a U.S. Department of State-funded program to commemorate the annual February celebration of African-American History Month.
